EXCHANGE DIARIES: TEGLA IN EXETER

Hey Saaar,

Can you believe I am in the UK for almost a month now? I can’t! Time flies by and I am having so much fun. Of course, I am super busy with going to uni and all, but even that is fun here. My weeks are so full with either school, studying, partying or doing fun stuff with my roommates. I swear, I am so lucky and forever thankful for my roommates. They are the best and really helped me with making this place feel like home. During the past weekends I mostly did day-trips to different places around, which were really fun despite the English weather.

So as you can imagine, I am having the time of my life, which is at the same time an insanely busy life. But I am not here to complain, just to  tell you some of my tips on how to make every place feel like your home (yes even the horrible English dorms, with the most ugly curtains ever).

1. TAKE DOWN THOSE CURTAINS. I swear, this worked for me as I love being in an open and bright environment. It kind of sucks when you had a night out and the sun shines in your room at 8 am, but whatever.

2. Say yes to everything. Go to every party, lunch date, tastor sessions even if it seems boring and just be nice.

3. Don’t stay in your room all day. Go out for a walk, make dinner with your roomies or just have a chat.

And to be honest, that’s all I could come up with for today. For me it came so naturally, which I did not expect at all. I would’ve thought that I was homesick by now, but I am quite the opposite.

I hope Rotterdam treats you well and uni is fun, even though we are all over the world.

Hugs to you and my favourite city in the world!
